David was born and raised in Newton, Kansas to wonderful parents who loved their family and raised them to be godly adults. He is one of those people who loves Kansas and the hot summer days. He says, “You do not have to shovel summer.”

He is married to the most wonderful lady in the world, Tayna. They have been married for 30 years. They have two children. Amanda is married to Kevin Duffy, and they live in Park City, Kansas. Joseph is married to Hannah (Miller) and they have one son, our first grandchild, Masen McCloud. They live in Branson, Missouri.

David and Tayna owned and operated Dave’s Delicacies (a retail bakery and meat market in Newton, Kansas) for 14 years. When they closed the store David went to work for Marriott Corporation as the Catering Director for three years. After leaving there he went to work for Hesston Public Schools as the Food Service Director for 13 years until going full time with World Impact.

David and Tayna have always been involved in their local church in many different rolls. They started two children’s ministries, worked in hospitality at the church and also were involved in the choir. They both served on the State Board for Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years as well, and held Good News Clubs in their home.

David started his work with World Impact as a summer cook at Deer Creek Camp in Colorado, under the direction of Joe and Sue Graham. He worked there during the summers for 10 years. There, he learned what true “community” was like. He says, “It didn’t matter what your roll was. You were a part of their team and you were treated as such.”

David is currently the manager of the World Impact Thrift Store (WITS) on Central. He has a heart for the urban poor and sharing the love of Christ with them. “It is a joy to do what you love to do and do it to help further the Kingdom,” says David.
